New York Post calls Whitney Port as the new Carrie Bradshaw and her own spin-off of The Hills, MTV's The City starts!

The lead role of MTV's reality show The Hills (May 31, 2006 - present) Whitney, received her own spin-off, named The City, starts on December 29, 2008. Summaries of what has been going on with Whitney's life so far are below.

In The Hills, Season 4, Episode 14, 'Back To New York', Whitney and Lauren are ordered to fly to New York City by Kelly Cutrone, Owner of the People's Revolution to lend a hand with a men's fashion show, the ★Buckler. At the backstage, while Whitney and Lauren help the models to get dressed, Adam, a model in the show invites them for an after-party at his restaurant, Il Bastardo, for food, drinks and live music. Whitney confesses to Lauren that Alex is really nice but too nervous when they leave. Off to Il Bastardo, Adam introduces them to his girlfriend, Allie. And Whitney's attention immediately focuses on the Australian singer, Jay who is Adam's roommate. When Alex shows up, there isn't enough space to sit at the same table anymore, and when Jay joins the group, Whitney totally forgets all about her timeshare deal with Alex. Alex is annoyed and upset watching Whitney and Jay flirting. Jay invites Whitney to go out with him later that night, he also persuades Whitney to keep away from Alex and they left arm in arm.

After that, in The Hills, Season 4, Episode 18, 'Dream Boy, Dream Job', Whitney was offered a position as PR in-house for Diane von Furstenberg, DVF in Meatpacking District, New York by Kelly Cutrone (which means she would need to move to New York City when she's accepted) and was set up an interview in New York. During the interview, she shares all of her good qualities and experiences in fashion to Alixe, the Vice President, Global Image Director in DVF, and emphasizes that she's ready for a change immediately. Whitney meets Jay again after her interview for the first time since they first met even though it's only for a short period of time, and tells him she'll hopefully see him sooner rather than later. Whitney leaves her California life, family and friends and will move to New York.

The New York Post has been calling Whitney Port as the new Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City even before The City has started. It says that, Carrie Bradshaw once considered, "When it comes to life and love, why do we believe our worst reviews?", however, Whitney has no comment on her critics and she believes that she is confident enough and ready to face new challenges specially in her career by being true to herself.

Reality TV show, The City which documents the changing life and surroundings of Whitney with anticipation and some trepidation as she moves to New York City to work for fashion designer, Diane von Fürstenberg. This is a kind of show that we must watch!
